Royal Chocolate Ganache Icing

We often see cakes frosted with buttercream, but if you are looking for an alternative, try this rich ganache icing used by the Royal Family.

Very simple to make and produces a nice glossy result.

Royal Chocolate Ganache Icing

Ingredients

  • 1/2 lb. quality semisweet chocolate chopped
  • 1 cup heavy cream

Instructions

  • Prepare at least six hours before you will be using to allow to set.
  • Put the chopped chocolate into a mixing bowl. In a separate saucepan, bring the heavy cream to a simmer. Pour the hot cream onto the chocolate, letting the chocolate melt. Whisk it until smooth and well incorporated.
