Traditional Sweet Tea

We have been drinking iced tea in North America since the 1900s.  At the World’s Fair in St. Louis in 1904,  Richard Belchynden, a tea merchant, found that adding ice to his hot teas was a big hit with visitors coping with the heat.

While most of us enjoy an iced tea in the summer, you will find sweet tea served in the South year-round.
