Black Friday Kitchen Deals Mrs. Patmore Would Actually Approve

downtonabbeycooks · November 27, 2025 ·

I’ve spent fifteen years recreating dishes from the Downton Abbey kitchens, and here’s what I know: Mrs. Patmore would have loved half the tools we take for granted today.

Picture her managing that coal-fired range, training Daisy, producing elaborate multi-course meals—all with copper pots that needed constant polishing and arms strong enough to beat egg whites by hand. She was brilliant, exacting, and worked twice as hard as necessary because better tools didn’t exist yet.

Hand her a stand mixer or an instant-read thermometer? She’d scoff—” Newfangled nonsense!”—then defend it fiercely within a week because Mrs. Patmore understood that the right tools don’t make you less of a cook. They make you a better one.

This Black Friday, I’m thinking about gifts for the cooks in our lives—or honestly, for ourselves. Not gadgets that clutter drawers, but tools that actually earn their keep. The kind Mrs. Patmore would have championed.

Here’s what I recommend:

Essential Cooking Tools

  • Knife Set with Knife Block with built-in sharpener
  • HENCKELS Forged Accent Razor-Sharp 2-pc Paring Knife Set
  • GIPFEL INTERNATIONAL Whistling Tea Kettle

Baking

  • SMARTAKE Parchment Paper Roll for Baking
  • 2-in-1 Pre-Seasoned Cast Iron Dutch Oven Pot with Skillet Lid Cooking Pan
  • Honey Comb Ceramic 9” Pie Plate for Apple Pie
  • Set of 3 Non-stick Springform Pans
  • PrecisionPin – Rolling Pin with adjustable pastry thickness
  • Dough Scraper

Practical Modern Tools (that Mrs. Patmore would’ve loved):

  • Immersion Blender Handheld
  • Stainless Steel Measuring Cups & Spoons Set
  • 3 pack Silicon Baking Matts

Serving

  • Cake Stand with Dome Lid
  • 15.25” Porcelain Holiday Serving Platter
  • Merry Grinchmas Tray
  • Charcuterie Board Gift Set – Bamboo Cheese Board & Serving Tray
  • Stoneware Bowl

I participate in the Amazon Associates program and earn a small commission on purchases made through these links at no extra cost to you.  I only recommend what I genuinely use—Mrs. Patmore would accept nothing less.
