So stupid to end Downton Abbey when it is so popular with almost everyone all over the world. The producers have a jewel within their reach and to talk about ending it is pure stupid on their part. Downton Abbey has so many directions it could go but strangely no one is talking about possibilities. I for one will be so upset to see it end because it outweighs anything coming out of Hollywood today as their minds seem stuck on sex, nudity and horror. Movie goers are sick of all that crap and are looking for substance. Downton Abbey has that and more. Please don’t take it away. The young people coming along should bring more possibilities for future story lines.

I hate to see Downton Abbey go. It’s just a shame people have to have “PRIME or AMAZON” to watch it. Some people can’t
afford to for pay it. Also can’t afford to buy the series. It’s so family & friend loved but to take it away should be a crime. That’s history & it’s all real for the time period which our kids can see & maybe relate.

The best on British TV ever. I love the detailed research that has gone into Downtown, history, costumes etc. It celebrates the beauty of English countryside and traditions.
So enjoyable to watch it again and again. The actors superbly chosen. Hugh Bonneville, Michelle Docker, Laura Carmichael to name just a few. Maggie Smith is a pure joy to watch every time she appears on the screen. How lucky we are all to have had her as an extraordinary actress for so many years in theatres, films and now in Downtown.
Rewatching it I notice ‘new twists’, observe how the characters change and grow. How wonderful to be able to go back to Downtown Abbey whenever one feels like it. Yes, we are in 2025 and life goes on with often technology irritatingly OTT but we still love to read classics and return again and again to our beloved books for enjoyment, inspiration and consolation. Downtown Abbey will remain my enjoyment, inspiration and ‘company’ together with re reading Anna Katerina and other masterpieces that I have in my library. Many thanks and congratulations to everyone who was a part of creating Downtown Abbey!!! It’s admired and loved not only by many in this country but abroad as well, at least for the people who can ‘tune in.

My favorite part is when Matthew and mary marry and I also liked when rose and adicus marry and when the carsons marry but my fav wedding is Edith marrying Bertie Pelham and the look on lady M’s face just b4 the big day when she discovery’s that Edith will be a marchoness.
I’d like to see a pre downtown abbey tv series with a young violet and her husband and how they were with Rosalind and Robert maybe starting either Robert meeting his young American bride and all the staff below stair being young Carson as first footman and Mrs Hughes as a lady’s maid oh the possibilities are endless

Julian Fellows, you did us proud!
What a wonderful time to be alive and be able to experience the masterpiece of Julian. You let us experience the lives of British aristocrats through your vision. Everything was perfectly displayed and executed, from the beautiful gowns, handsome suits, elaborate hats, delicate jewelry, period hairstyles, shoes. The dining room table filled with wonderful food, the furniture, fireplaces, cars and of of course the castle , DOWNTON ABBEY was brilliant; I smile everytime I hear DOWNTON ABBEY. The series got me through some rough times and the movies were the icing on the cake. Life is hard, but immersing myself in the lives of the Crawleys , their extended family and the downstairs help made me realize we’re all precious and all so much alike even 100 years later. We all experience ups and downs, happiness and sorrow, even people in jolly old England. No favorite parts.. I LOVED IT ALL!! THANK YOU Julian Fellows. Master of history, a legend, you are. Hugs!
